31 Character Challenge, Day 02: Everway SAE

My next character sees me getting back in touch with a game I've loved for decades: Everway. Technically this character is for the Silver Anniversary Edition, but the underlying rules of the game, including character creation, really haven't changed from the first edition.

I used the Player's Guide for some clarification, but as I had no firm idea of the character I wanted to create, I relied on the Fortune Deck for inspiration. I drew cards rather than picking them, and the cards I received melded well into an image.

Vellum is a scholar, librarian and teacher. For many years, he has served at the Great Library in the capital city of his Sphere, curating and spreading the knowledge gathered there (Virtue: Knowledge). However, the people of his Sphere have become convinced that they have already gathered everything that is worth knowing (Fault: Spring reversed). Worried that his library and his people will fall into decline, Vellum has made the difficult decision to leave and travel the Spheres, seeking new knowledge to bring back and reinvigorate them (Fate: Fertility).

Though he possesses a keen mind and abilities that will greatly enable his quest, he realizes that he is not much of a fighter and will gladly join a group of Spherewalkers including stronger people for mutual aid.
